Okinawa Dojo team shined at US Open and Junior International Cup in Las Vegas.

On the weekend of April 14-16th, 2017 when most of people celebrated Easter with families, karate athletes from Denver performed at international competition in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.

This US Open was a record-breaking year – over 2500 participants from more that 50 countries traveled to Paris Hotel to fight for the championships. 23 athletes, 6 coaches and a few dozens of family supporters represented Okinawa Team at this event.

Some of you might know the exciting news that Karate for the first time is included in Olympic Games 2020 in motherland of this beautiful martial art – Tokyo, Japan. It is a dream comes true for thousands of karate practitioners around the World. With that said the popularization of karate is gaining it’s speed day by day. The level of competition itself, level of athletes and professionalism of judges is growing. This year’s US Open was quite a challenge for our team, but it did not stop us to represent strong!
