The Halloween kids’ party at the karate dojo was a spooktacular event filled with fun and excitement! The kids had a blast in their creative costumes, participating in fun games and activities. With plenty of treats, prizes, and laughter, it was a memorable way to celebrate the season while staying active and having fun. The dojo was filled with energy, and everyone left with big smiles and a few sweet surprises!

Spirit of Denver - October 26th, 2024
Our Competition Team members showcased their Kata and Kumite skills at the new local tournament, Spirit of Denver, organized by Sensei David Gould of Shotokan Karate Dojo @shotokankaratedojoco . Competitors had the chance to test their abilities in Kumite under two different rule sets—USA Karate (WKF) and AAU. The highlight of the event was the Rotational Team Kumite, which featured exciting, action-packed matches that kept the crowd entertained.

This passed weekend Okinawa Dojo was filled with spectators, full examination board, and the students lined up for their moment of testing. For some, it was the culmination of months of effort, while for others, it marked years of hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence in both character and karate skills. Testing for the next rank (Kyu) is a significant milestone in the life of any karateka—a chance to showcase the results of their perseverance and training.
We are incredibly proud of all our students who tested. Well done, and congratulations!

We are beyond proud of our student Eduard Sagilyan @eduard_sagilyan_ who successfully represents Okinawa Dojo at the World arena.
Currently, Eddie is ranked number #4 in the World among U21 athletes and number #16 in the World among +84 kg Senior athletes.
At the beginning of October, Eddie represented Team USA at the World Championships in Jesolo, Italy, and placed 7th in the WORLD! We all saw what happened in the quarterfinals, a referee made a wrong call, that could have changed the match outcome completely, but, hey, it’s a sport! And just like in life in sport, things not always happen the way they should. We are ready for whatever it is ahead of us.
Eddie got back home, refocused, re-adjusted, and started preparing for the next big event - the Karate World Cup in Pamplona, Spain that is happening this coming weekend, November 22-24. Eddie is already on his way to Spain, where he will meet with the rest of the Team USA. The men’s team is fighting on Friday.
